By Jessica Kelmon — Hollywood’s campaign to curtail video piracy helps raise awareness of the issue, but it may leave audiences skeptical of the big wigs’ need for protection. But now an adaptation of Macrovision Corp’s anti-piracy technology, called RipGuard MOD (Manufacture-On-Demand), is available to independent filmmakers and event videographers, protecting the proverbial little guy. The technology protecting the DVD of your favorite blockbuster has been applied to DVD-Rs for small-scale productions like wedding and corporate training videos.
